Paul,
Into the light of day at last! One step at a time towards becoming a competent and stunning track ride. Once that oil-cooler is replaced do us a video clip with sound, then we'll all cheer together with the music!
See you on track at DOCC Calabogie.

I finally had time to get down to getting the bike ready for the dyno, suddenly I have some running issues on the vertical cylinder, lts of popping and very little combustion going on. First i noticed lots of fuel in manifold, check float heights adjusted slightly, better but still dumping fuel. Checked the needle and seat and noticed considerable wear on one side of the needle, had a spare so changed that, it ran better for a minute then the dropped the vertical again. No fuel in the manifold this time, dropped the pilot jet down a couple of sizes, as the front was really sooty and the back a bit damp. Still intermittent on the vertical, the horizontal looks much closer, so I will stay with those sizes for now. I will double check ignition timing today, get some new plugs and fresh fuel...... Hopefully happiness! No pickups to worry about, may have to double check cam timing!!!

Hi Paul, #4 is a real beauty! You inspired me to get started on #3. I will try to post some pictures once I get out of my own way. You know how slow the projects get started. Great job! Lou

Thanks Lou, I look forward as the board will at your new creation! I have really been torn on how to build the bike to give it justice. A few mistakes have been made along the way, is should have used more period correct forks, there was just nothing out there that I could afford! I am eventually going to go with 18 wheels, and a a narrower triple clamp the 851 clamps are just too wide. On another note the bike is now running like a twin should! Ignition timing was good, cam timing on the vertical cylinder was the culprit. I dropped the bike off at the shop for dyno tunning, hopefully all will be good! Paul

I know how you feel Paul. Wanting to do 'justice' to the bike has been why it has been taking me so long to get started. I will probably go with a 18x4.5 Marvic in the rear and a 17x3.5 in the front. I too am worried about what will fit the rear swingarm, I thought about a modified aluminum one but it would defeat the purpose of a period build, and look like an 851. I am fitting 42mm Forcella Italia forks, 300mm rotors and probably a set of GP MK1 QR brakes. I also have GP MK1 billet brembo masters for the brakes and dry clutch. The motor is still apart and in boxes but it will be a 750. I am toying with the idea of setting her up as an Endurance racer. Just as it would have been built back in the day, a big job to do right. I am in no rush to build this bike as I want it to be special to honor Carlos efforts. I have only changed the paint scheme in my head about 200 times, but that is the fun in building a custom bike for yourself. I have been putting away parts since before I bought the Moretti, wishing and hoping if I bought one, I would have the parts on hand. I have most everything I need but still have a lot of fab work to get done. I was very intimidated at first but she and I are starting to get along quite well. Lou

Cooool! There is always something really interesting to look forward to on this forum! I am sure that we all I can't wait to see your project take shape Lou. I am sure it will be as exciting as Paul's! Beautiful work Paul!! This all constantly reminds me that I have done very little to progress The Full Monty project in a very long time... but my wallet has not been idle all this time as I have been buying big on those precious hard to find vintage parts you both mentioned. Paul, what forks are on your shopping list? We maybe able to help? Cheers,
