Very Nice. Good proportions. Is it dual mufflers, and how did you handle the right side of the lower fairing if so? MikeV |

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I am really happy with how it is turning out, better than the picture in my mind. To answer a few questions, the fairing came from Gowanloch, they have somebody local who makes them again, and they match fairly closely the original. The rear seat (frame, tank and rear sets) are from Jan at redfox-grinta, it's not the correct seat for the endurance bike, however I prefer the narrower design from a form perspective. The exhaust pipes are by MIVV, I contemplated removing the modern rear and replacing with a reverse cone, however I think it fits nicely with the modern replica vision. With the Db killers in they are legal, and come with the required stickers that we need here in Oz. I started it for the first time yesterday and I love the open sound.... Lastly it uses the standard dual system from the monster, the crossover is a long way back so mostly clears the fairing, with a little trimming. The front pipe runs under the engine, so I had to do a cut out from a little behind the mid point of the belly. |

Screens.... Screams...... So I learnt something today, there are actually two types of top fairings for the F1, I believe the 85-87 bikes having a slightly smaller screen cut out, then the 88. Fortunately my brothers 85F1 has an 88 top fairing, originally from a Santa Monica I think, so he can use the screen I purchased and I will order the narrower one that I require...... I should have some pictures tomorrow of the bike complete with it's war paint.... I rode it around the block and I must say it is completely impractical, noisy, hot and uncomfortable..... So I think it must be perfect. I only went fairly slow, however it felt very stable, smooth and connected, so the geometry must be close to where it needs to be... |

Apart from the screen (see above) and the road gear ie. blinkers, mirrors and rear fender it is complete. I am so chuffed with it, whilst never as beautiful as the authentic or period correct bikes on this forum, it matches the vision from the start, which if you remember was to make a modernised road replica in the spirit of 'Lucky' Lucchinelli's #1 bike.
