Hello to all friends of the forum, I'll show you some pictures of my F1 Montjuic, I would like to ask you all your opinion and what you know about, about the muffler accounts of my bike.

I have seen many photographs, and most of the exhaust pipes, end cone, and not trumpet-like mine.

I anticipate and I can confirm that the serial numbers printed above the exhaust pipe, coincide perfectly on the registration document.

I noted with great joy, that the engine block was developed by NCR workshops, with much joy I found the cams "P" ncr, and the suction enlarged.

The F1 montjuich rode the camshafts marked with the "M"?
You tell me if I'm wrong?

I'll show you the pictures dl tank underneath, you can see the taps different from one another, that all metal is original?

I replaced the one with the plastic handle (I have not posted the photo)

I have done a bit of photos for you to see the details and the state of preservation.

Thanks to all friends.

Carlo.

If the open race pipe is the Silentium, I think this might be it?

Hello Cranky, short phrases and easy, otherwise I do not understand, you have to do like when it comes to children.

First question:

My exhaust pipe is right?

I have the numbers printed on the registration certificate of viability.

Inside the heads of my alazzurra moretti replica 750, I found the cams stamped "M" and I was told of my friends who is an abbreviation for the type of cam fitted with the "Montjuic"

What do you say?

if you can not answer me, I will make the demand for reserves!

Ciao e grazie!!

I agree with Cranky; those marked with the P are the Montjuich grind. And, the numbers for them in the parts manual are same as those shown by Falloon in his Twins book as being the "race" cams for the early Pantahs! I have many photos of these sold and for sale marked with the P, and have bought some from Gowanloch marked with the P. If you have a set in your hands and compare them to stock 750 cams it is obvious the Ps have more lift and longer duration.

Carlo. That muffler has the same numbers as the one sometimes sold by Gowanloch, and I have one. Maybe the factory just decided to use it that day? Many had the roudy Verlicchi version, and those who ride them often take them off because of the noise. Only the non-ridden "house" versions seem to stay attached. Also, the story about M cams reminds me of some who try to sell stock 750 cams, Marked OR and HR, as "race" cams; they are not. I have a set of the M cams from some Pantah heads somewhere, and I think they are the early version of the R cams.

Hi Carlo - I have used my Montjuich (004) with original noisy Verlicchi, Conti like yours and Silentium at various times since buying it new in 1986. It goes best with Verlicchi by a big margin so I would recommend you try to get one especially because that is what original should have been. Everything else in your photographs looks OK except Eaton fuel filler cap looks non standard. Also I think the reserve tube inside the tank looks shorter than mine - but that might be down to changing the tap. In a couple of days time I will be able to check out plug cap numbers for you and also carburettor settings but have no details of camshaft markings. My bike is completely original except for having mirrors, indicators and a centre stand and being very early production it came with standard F1 Marzocchi instead of the adjustable one. If you need any other information or photographs of how an original should be I will be happy to help,
Richie.

Grazie, MikeV, grazie Richie, I know very well the cams "P", I felt that my bike, at a minimum, it is not lit very well, but just turn the throttle the bike shoots off like a rocket.

I have a bit of experience (little) elaborate on how a Ducati has to work.

Last year I did the endurance championship, with a f1 prepared by a friend of mine.

This cam has "P" and large racing exhaust valves, carburetors and 40, with the cams P the bike screams up to 10,000 rpm and is very good.

My Montjuic, I have carburetor and I put the carbs on the same, the bike limps a little at a minimum, if you stop at a traffic light, you have to hold a bit of speed, but then it is beautiful and pleasant to drive.

I have thrown up to speeds of 180km na, but I wanted to go further, since I have very good care of it and do not want to ruin it.

If you make me see an original pot with serial numbers, this I would be very grateful.

But the serial numbers match my vehicle registration?

I forgot to say that my bike is working very well, and the sound of my muffler is music, but if I found his original pot would be very nice.

I strongly believe the solution to MikeV in Ducati rode what they had, this thing I can assure you the.

Thank you for your help.

Excuse my English.

carlo

Carlo, as Richie and Mike have said, the Ducati 750 Montjuich came originally with a muffler made by Verlicchi.

It has no numbers stamped on it. Please look at the photos.

To register my Montjuich, I had to put on a Conti muffler exactly like yours. I took the Conti off and put the Verlicchi back on because, with the Verlicchi, the music is the best in the world.

Like yours, mine does not want to idle, only wants to gooooooooo......

The last photo shows the Verlicchi stamped "RISERVATO COMPETIZIONE". That is the one on the Montjuich.

The pipe is like the Verlicchi used for bevel twins but it is not the same. See http://annunci.ebay.it/annunci/ricambi-e-accessori/verona-annunci-bussolengo/trombone-verlicchi-x-ducati-900/38339318

The other photos shows a Verlicchi stamped with the English translation......

The two pipes are exactly the same except for the stamping and the black chrome. I bought the "English version" many years ago in Japan (?) for my Laguna Seca and was told it was part of the optional "F1 race kit". I believe anything......

Sorry the photos are bad but I am useless with cameras.

Lastly, um, I humbly point out that we are talking about the Ducati Montjuich, not the nice Laverda 500. :)
