I found two Zanzani aluminium brake rotors at an autojumble.
Price : just a tad more than scrap value.
Reason : chips of the coating.

Does anyone know where they can be rectified or re-coated ?

I've got another fixed Zanzani on the back of my 250 Mag1 (called that way because frontfork, valvecovers, carbs, wheels are magnesium) but that get's rarily used due to the front fourpot Brembo on a 260 floater.

regards,
ducadini

hello, disc brakes Zanzani, I think that's the model "duroalluminio" translated I think it is aluminum treated with hard chrome plating.

They should be very light.

I have found some brake discs on motorcycles tt2, f1, but Branded brembo, and only mounted on the rear wheel.

But it had a very successful year, they were very light but you ruined very quickly, since it took axial play on the small pins floating.

however, are very beautiful.

ciao!!

The discs are aluminium with a sprayed on layer of iron, approx 0.4-0.5 mm thick (now).
Weight : 580 gr for the 220 mm disc and 680 gr for the 258 mm.
When talking to the mecanics at Italian races in the 80's, they said the front discs were changed every raceweekend (at GP level).

IIRC : wasn't there a firm called HUNT that did aluminium sprayed discs (end 70's early 80's) in the US ?
