Hello,
was wondering what the correct geometry is for a TT. Searching many topics on this forum gave me a few answers, but not all.
So, that's the reason i started this topic.

This is my Harris TT, near finished, just need to assemble the fairing and paint it.

418

To me, it looks like the front (38 mm. M1r) is a bit to high and the rear a bit to low. Are the forklegs to long and should i lower the front further (did already 5,5 cm. through the upperyoke)?
And what is the right steering angle?
The rear shock is 32 cm. (should be long enough).
The swingarm angle is 11,5 degrees. (12,5 degree is perfect??)
Engine to ground = 21,5 cm .
My weight is 78 kg. and 1,82 m. tall.
For racetrack only!

The question is, what is the correct geometry of a (Harris) TT.

Merry Christmas and a loving and healthy 2014.

William

Apart from all the angles and dimensions, specific to each framebuilder, is there anyone who has taken the overall dimensions of some of the frames ?
I've been gathering some stuff that has been floating around long enough now but before I start cutting and welding I'd rather have some base to begin with.
The rear fork is a few cm longer than a standard Pantah, so the wheelbase will be longer.
I could cut the fixation points of the engine and move them more to the front (and strengthen them) to get the standard wheelbase but that would mean that the CoG is also moving to the front. Not meant to be raced, but I don't really like a pushing front end.
If I have some distances of rear axle-outshaft and crankshaft-front axle that would give me a good starting point.

grazie mille
ducadini

Hello, that bike is too high in front.

You begin by making a measurement standard.

My frame builder Moretti, gave me a starting point, then make changes in the sensitivity of the pilot.

If you buy the bike you have to know how to ride.

So, let's recap.

Measure from the motor shaft to the ground with the bike resting on the ground without a tripod (maybe a person needs to hold onto the bike, otherwise it falls!)

From the center of the pivot motor on the ground 41.5 cm

Then you get up your motorcycle, from under the steering column, and will measure 70-71 cm from the top of the steering plate to the center of the swing arm pivot.

Now you just have to give gass.

Ciao da un pazzo italiano.
