I could use some advice about replacing the front brakes on the 1988 F1 I'm reassembling. I would like to upgrade the calipers, but I'm thinking about doing some vintage racing and I want to have a rules problem. Any advice on what combination of Brembo calipers, mastercylinder and adapter I should use? I would also like to replace the stock Verlicci clip ons and rear sets with something I can replace if the bike goes down. As always, your info is greatly appreciated.

You are in luck! So long as you can afford them that is... The callipers below are the first ever "production bike" Brembo dual piston callipers! These callipers were fitted to both the Santamonica and the first 851 Ducatis.

At around $1,000, they are worth every penny as I have never seen them come up before on eBay!

Or if you want something REALLY exclusive... GP quality , you should keep an eye out for a set of these at around $2,000.

This "Race Bike" calliper as fitted to the Montjuich is the first dual piston motorcycle calliper made by Brembo (or anyone else for that matter?). I suspect that the Montjuich is the only production motorcycle to have ever had them factory fitted. All the other bikes that wore them were top shelf factory race bikes. So there are very few available

I think the black sets now listed on eBay are listed at twice the price (value); they still show up at $200 to $600 a set. If he is using the stock forks he could also just bolt on (without adapters) a set of Goldline 08s; they are still to be found. MikeV
