Hi,
I am presently considering the replacement of my OEM F1 mechanical rev counter with one which is electronic.
I would like to know what are the recommendations from the members of this forum.
Thanks for any advice.

Go to speedhut.com You can design your own tach. Electric and easy to hook up, runs off the neg. side of the coil. Just put one on my 900 and am doing a track day tomorrow. I'll report back.

Very interesting suggestion. Would you please post a photo of your installation ?
I suppose that you have rubber mounted it.
Does this rev counter take into account the fact that the coil produces a spark on each rotation of the engine ?
Thanks

I'm hooked on Scitsu - they have excellent action, great accuracy and have been used on vintage racers forever.. They also come with a white-face option now. With the weakened British Pound, I can land one here in Canada for under $250.00.
Pictured with black face and internal battery - they also offer a hard-wired version at no additional cost.
Regards,

The report, It works great! I think the not waterproof is easily fixable as the harness entering the case is just wires going thru a grommet. I used some shrink tubing and some tape as a temp seal. Once I clean up my wiring a blob of silicone will seal the bottom nicely. I haven't taken the bezel off yet but it unscrews and I think the lens will be easy to seal. Could all be moot though as it's on a track bike and I stopped thinking racing in the rain was fun years ago. Pics when I can figure out my phone [I am a bit of a Luddite]
