Morning. A while back I had a chance to swap/buy some well-known vintage race cams from one of our members. Once they arrived I told him I was happy except for one thing; they did not have the typical lightening holes on the lobes, they were solid. He told me not to worry: The ones without holes produce more horsepower because they do not fling oil around inside the heads! He said I got the "good ones".
Less weight, or more horsepower; less weight/more horsepower. What do you think? Did I get taken, or am I lucky?

Hi Mike, I don't know about the holes but I do know that I always knife edge the cam lobes and polish them. Less friction better oil circulation. Lou
