Hello people! Is it possible to fit a cagiva 650 dry clutch to a Cagiva 650 wet clutch set up? I've read that the clutch shaft is 10mm longer on the dry setup. I've also read its possible to use the wet shaft setup. So what are the mods I have to do to make it work. Or do I have to find a longer shaft. Thanks for any help. Boucher.

Well, I'll wade in: Yes, it can be done. You will need to mill or turn the center of the clutch hub down (deeper) about 6mm or more, enough to make sure the shaft nut grabs to your satisfaction when you tighten it. If you are using the old six-spline wet-clutch clutch shaft, which seems to be your intention, then you can use your six-spline hub, steel or aluminum; both versions were made. Of course, you will need to line up the primary and clutch gears (replaced with straight-cut versions?) with a proper-thickness bush on the clutch shaft. Some have done this to use the aluminum hubs from the wet-clutch 600-750s on 750-and-up dry clutches, and they are the fine-spline versions; but, that is why I know it can be done. MikeV

Thanks Mike, As you know I'm just collecting bits for the TT1 and seeing what I need to be on the lookout for. Can you still get the longer clutch shaft? Boucher.
