Post subject: | 800 mm bore Pantah rings |
Hi, I purchased a couple of sets of 80mm bore rings rings from a seller in Aus. From memory the original standard pantah first ring was chrome and had a two part oil ring, the rings supplied are black in colour all over and the oil rings are in four sections, anyone have any eperience with these rings ? Hi my experience though little, is you can't run chrome rings in a nikasil bore. Cast iron and cast iron are go! As the thunderbirds would say. Boucher. |

Im certain the Mahle rings I used in my 350 TZ were chrome rings in a nikasil bore and kept the ring gap for a longer period of miles which were a must for the likes of doing the TT and always though the Pantah had to top ring only in chrome. Sam |
