Hi,
I was At Vegas Auction this weekend......I dont get it, factory.....TT1 below goes for $38.5K, Bevel Racer brings only $40k doesnt sell, but 2 new in the crate 1986 Honda 50 monkey/mini bikes sell for $51k :-0

This 1984 Ducati TT1 is a works racer (Chassis No. DM1/000101 and Engine No. 75000036) in the factory team’s typical red and blue color scheme. It was imported to Sweden in 1985 by the Ducati agent for Benny Aneröd, a sucessful rider in Battle of the Twins (BOTT) races. This bike is the “sister” to Rutter´s TT2 World Championship machine. Aneröd and other racers were actively using this TT1 up until 1991, when the Ducati specialist Torbjörn Lindgren bought it and restored it. The MC Collection acquired it in 2010, and it is a magnificent and very rare, genuine ex-factory racer.

75 Bevel Racer doesnt sell for $40k
estimate...$85,000 - $120,000
HIGHLIGHTs
Believed to be one of the first two in the United States
One of only three bevel heads to win Super Bike National - London 1979
Raced in first ever Super Bike event - Daytona 1976
Finished 6th - set Daytona speed record
162 MPH while winning twins event 1981

Sorry...meant to post this in the general discussion....

Hi Cal, you didn't mention the GPM which sold for 34K. A few things on the auction and the TT1. For starters the TT's still suffer from no one in the general public knowing what they are. Even people into Ducati's don't know what a TT1 is. Secondly, I thought the restoration was sub par. A lot of reproduction parts were used, unnecessarily, the front forks needed to be slid down the triples a bit as the front end looks really high to me. I spent a long time looking at the pictures of that bike. It probably started life as a TT2 as many of the factory racers did. It still retains the steel swingarm. The bracket for the torque arm to the engine made no sense. The fairing sub-frame looks like and TWC one. It should have a curve in it. I don't mean to nitpick but I figure if your looking to get 70k or more for a bike, a better job could be done. It could have been much nicer. Maybe I'm a bit of a purest when it comes to these bikes so I apologize to anyone I've offended. Just my opinion. That being said I think it was a steal! I still never can understand how a 750SS should get more money than a TT1, much less a Honda 50!Lou

Which was better deal?? the TT or the GPM??

A 85 F1 went for $18k too....it was not a totally correct one either.

See ya,
Clay

To me they were both a deal as I want a GPM so badly. Probably market value for the GPM, it came with spares that hopefully include the GPM clutch. The motor in the bike has a 'standard' Ducati dry clutch. The descriptions and the people selling them have no enthusiasm for these unheralded machines. One day soon. Lou
