Post subject:  Speedo Drive for 25mm Axle

Does anyone have a solution for me to fit a speedo drive to a 25mm axle from 748.
I fitted 696 rims to save some weight (poor person that can't afford mag wheels) and I can't fit the fat drives that came with pre electronic speedometers.
I have 20mm wide spacer where the old speedo drive was.
So a speedo that fitted a 25mm axle and 20mm wide is what I need.

Any ideas ?

Regards
Graeme

Hi Graeme, did you see my answer in the Mail?
If I understand correctly, will you mount a 20 axis?
Bushings inside the bearing 25?
Replace wheel bearings?
Throw away the rims and buy $ 27,000 carbon rims? :D

I am not sure Graeme, but I don’t think there is a Ducati front wheel speedo for the big 25mm axles. I think those bulky black drives that easily cracked were only 17 and 20mm.

Or did you have a 25mm diameter one that is just too wide?

Hello Mike,

The plastic coated drives that crack are too wide for the wider 696 rims.
They fit with the SS standard rim but not the 696 rim and there isn’t enough excess on the drive to turn it down.
Answer seems to be push bike type rotating magnet or gps speedo.
I used the ‘95 SS dash and wanted to try and keep the standard speedometer.

Graeme

Hi Graeme, hi Mike, I try to understand what details you are explaining, I understand the problem but I can't help you, because I should have spare parts in front of me, but even if I wanted to try to say in English with the translator that what you should do ..... I think I would make you wrong ..... sometimes the translator is able to make a good translation, but there are some words of yours that I think are in dialect jargon ... like when I I say: porcaputtana, or Maremmaimpestata .. .. I could go on and on ... I just tell you ... love me anyway .... even if I'm useless.

Un saluto da Firenze
