Ok here is a question to anyone one that had ridden a tt2 with any of the above wheel combinations. I am looking for feedback on the difference in handling of any of the different wheel combinations. On the moretti I honestly couldn’t tell the difference, when I put the bike together it had 17 inch marvics with Dunlop slicks 120/150 combo and 41.7 m1r forks, I then switched to 18 marvics and really didn’t notice much difference. I then switched to 38 m1r the handling improved in a couple or areas leading me to believe the fork with modern rubber was a bit stiff for the frame? Any feedback on wheel combinations is greatly appreciated.... it will help with some decisions on a project Thanks paul

Hi Paul, I can say with extreme certainty that the 16-inch wheel was a period where the riders suffered a lot, the 16-inch wheel was born with the Verlicchi TT2 to remove the chattering problem, but only official tires were able to do so. drawback, the Moretti is a different frame, when the great Walter Villa tested the Moretti in Mugello he said exact words, this bike has no chattering unlike the Verlicchi, he was testing the official TT1 on that occasion. Moretti and all vintage bikes like TT2 Verlicchi Moretti GPM, in my humble opinion the 18 inch wheel is fantastic, certainly the 17 inch wheel is superior, also from the fact that there are modern compounds and sizes that fit perfectly with the wheel rim. Let's consider that if we mount a 120/70 we will have a 3 inch rim and not a 2.50 with a tire like the Phantom Pirelli 18 inch but from 110 which goes very very well. Hope the translation works, hello guys.

Hi Huit Very interesting topic. O I cannot give my contribution because I have not experience only on Pantah framed Bike
But I will follow this.
And this is for Carlo: I always get positive feedback related to the new Pirelli Phantom. Are these tires better than continental classic attack? Ciao Filippo

Ciao Filippo, I think I understand, since I use the translator, that you ask me if the Pirelli Phantom are better than the Continental. I must say that in Endurance, before leaving the Continental we thought about it for a long time and very intensely, since it is an excellent tire, but the Pirelli Phantom in my opinion is superior, both in the wet and in the dry. Before trying it, I asked Vittoriano Guareschi, since the Pirelli Phantom technical development had been asked him to test the new tires, and I must say he was right.
Ciao Filippo.
