Post subject:  TT1 Marzocchi’s

Hi am in the process of collecting parts for my TT1 replica build My intention was to use a set of M1R Marzocchi’s but I have found a set of magnesium Marzocchi’s as used on the TT2's I believe these were produced in 2 sizes 38mm and 35mm(I think) was wondering which size was mostly used on the TT1's in the day and what a fair price to pay for a set is
Any help and/or advice greatly appreciated

Hi Ducfan, yes TT1's had both 35 and 38mm forks. A few also had M1R's. So few were made I don't think you could say there was a standard fork. The other thing to consider is that some 35mm mag forks had F05 brake spacing with 260mm rotors. So check to see what the forks you are looking at have for spacing. As far as price is concerned it would depend on condition. $500 for poor condition up to $2000 and more for NOS. Hope this helps. Lou

Hello Lou, I wanted to see you, my marzocchi fork in magnesium, with the attacks of brake calipers for discs from 260.

I think that is mounted on a mba from gp, or on a Morbidelli, gp.
my fork, it is more 'shorter than usual ducati.

Do You think this kind of fork in magnesium, was also mounted on the ducati tt?

Ciao Lou.

You do not write me difficult words. :? :?

Hi Carlo, are they 35mm? Yes these were used on the early TT1's and TT2's. My TT1 came with these forks and was later switched to 38mm with 280mm rotors. The fork tubes are very short on all original TT's that I have seen. The full length of the tubes are 510mm. Even my other TT1 that has M1R 41.7mm forks from NCR are very short like the Bimota DB1. This is a picture of my TT1 when it was all original with the small forks. They bolted the fender to the forks and had a different fender bracket between the forks. I still have it! Hope this helps. Best Regards, Lou
