Hi Jarno, the PPG number is DBU2756 Bright Yellow. The red we use is #2296 Bright Red. The DBU designation is basecoat, clearcoat. You can also get it in single stage as well. Hope this helps. Good luck. Lou Saif |

Thank you very much Lou. I happen te work in the family's paint and blast shop so I made a cross reference on the Sikkens Computer. Turns out PPG 2756 yellow = GM WA4669 a specific corvette 1975 color PPG 2296 red = Ford America M3560 a much used ford color from 1971 to 1989 May be some help if you can't work with the PPG numbers. The red is close to the modern ducati PPG 473101, weren't the ducati's in the eighties a less brighter red? Jarno |

Jarno My mate here in Australia, that I reckon knows his stuff, insists I use Glasurit 'Guard Red' or Guards Red' (my hearing is shot) on my 650 pantah. It's the correct factory red colour of the time according to him. He's probalby right, he was sweeping the floors at the factory around that time Garry |

Hi Jarno, the reds are close. F1's of that era were a deeper red (which I happen to like), but the TT's that I have, and have seen are brighter. More towards orange, similar to 'Guards Red'. I just compared an NOS upper fairing from NCR to a tank we painted 'Bright Red' and it's a damn good match, but let's remember it's 25 year old paint and they were painted in a small shop and paint matching wasn't that important, 'close' was good enough. Regards, Lou Saif |

While we are discussing the paint codes, would it be prudent to list the remaining colours if anyone knows them? E.g. Green for the seat of the F1 - 750, and correct shade of white for the belly pan? Also - what colour is the silver on the F1 - Montjuich Any other colours to add? Cheers, Mike Sydney |

Hi Mike, I wish I had this forum when I started restoring TT's! This makes it much easier. The TT1 blue we use is PPG#6761 and again the red is PPG#2296. For F1's we use PPG#903678 it's a deeper red. Hope this helps. Good luck, Lou Saif |

Thanks Lou! Does anyone know the paint code for the gold wheels on the 750 F1 for 1985? I am upgrading my F1 with a pair of Paso wheels - which of course are the wrong color. Cheers, Mike |
