Post subject:  Ceriani fork maintenance

Hey Guys,

I am going over my Gilera Saturno at the moment and have overhauled the forks but am now having some leaks from the adjusters at the bottom of the clamp.

Now I know this isnt a Ducati (dont worry the Gilera is swamped in the garage by them) but this forum is by far the authority on italian forks and I was wondering if anyone has a manual on these as the factory books I have do not include the "TT" models and therefore not these forks.

I have added a couple of extra pics to show off the unique (well until the Suzuki "Goose" 350 was made) frame of the Saturno.

regards

Sean

Hi Sean,
I'll bet a buck your forks use the same parts to rebuild the adjusters as the forks on the F1B, as described in the "Forcella Italia Fork Rebuild" thread: http://www.ducatittandf1.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1657&p=3344#p3344. I edited my post in that thread to include the page from the parts manual, so you could see what the part numbers are referring to. Another old racing tip (normally used for external oil lines) not mentioned there, is to put a thin coat of blue locktite on both sides of the crush washers at assembly.

Thanks Bill,

I had seen that post but I didnt think the parts would be shared but now it seems obvious.
I will check it out and report back. Thanks for that,

Sean
