 Brad, I don't know about this.... Looks kind of cool, but I'm concerned about the length. Cutting these down to length might be tricky.Have you used these before? Did you use them on my other Pantah engine?????  Hehe, I'll look into these a little closer. ---Edit: I just watched a youtube installation video and it requires far too many tools. Why wouldn't one just replace the guide?? Otherwise, how busy are you? Cheers mate. Steve |

get a head shop to do it. i use saliba in springvale or hsd in moorabbin. |

 Gents, the painter is now ready to commence the frame & swing-arm! Yeeeaaa! Hopefully, I'll have it before Easter to get cracking on to the engine.Speaking of which, I have some photo's of the Gudgeon pin & Piston. Condition comments are welcome, but I'm not paying! Very excited. It's taken the best part of 2.5 years to get to this stage. Shhhhh, don't tell the wife they're in the spare room... I'm trying to turn it into a assembly workshop. The lack of lubrication of the small end on our F1 & F2 's used to worry me to death, I used to worry that the intense heat to the small ends would either cause a siezure or a gudgeon pin to fail. There was some lubrication that got up there but clearly not enough. I found the answer to be quite a simple mod. I drilled a small hole either side of the flat part of the con rod and in through the journal part of the con rod to the center, I drilled the same size hole in to the big end bearing to correspond with the hole in the con rod. The oil that squirted up to the small end and to the underneath of the piston crown gave enough lubrication to cool both and to completly stop the gudgeon pin and small end overheating. The scoring of your piston does not look to bad to me, you will enevitably get some small scoring as the TT's were not fitted with a air cleaner. |

Unfortunatly I do not have any photographs of that mod. In the early 1980's people did not seem to carry cameras with them everywhere. |
