Hi,

Can someone please enlighten me with what the purpose of the two resistors connected in line before the ignition coils. I am using std ignition but changing the coils for Dyna coil but was wondering if I can omit these?

Thanks in advance.

Sam

Found this on another site so redesigned the positioning of the electronic components again.

Hi, yes as the product info says, remove the ballast on your bike when you fit those coils. Also, everyone else note that for the stock bosch pickups etc, 5 ohm coils works best on all street applications period. If you are going to install on a race bike and are willing to mount the coils lower and out in the wind so they can cool, then you can use 3 ohm coils without the ballast [I have on one of my bikes] and not have any problems. If you install 3 ohm coils in the stock place or anywhere up under the tank etc where they will not get any wind they will self destruct due to heat very quickly.

The coil mount brackets that we stock will save heaps of time over fabricating something to mount your coils although they will most likely still need further modification to fit your specific application.
