I'm about to order a set of TM-Pro 41 carbs for my 800* motor and have a couple of questions for you guys. I've looked through most of the info I could find on the board and have come up with a starting point for jetting as follows; main jet 250 pilot jet 30 needle jet Q2 jet needle 6FJ41 throttle valve 4.0 float needle valve 2.0 I'm assuming if I go for the "custom calibration" option I can order the carbs with these specs... Is Sudco or Power Barn or? the place to order Mikunis from? What kind of selection of jets, needles etc should I order to have something to tune with once I get the bike running? I have nothing now. *05 800SS motor with BMC ported/big valve Alazzurra heads 800 cams 11.5/1 CR? LoudBike exhaust trackday/race TT2 |

Hey, John: I started with the same setting that was used in my 853 motor (F1 cams): Main: 250 Slide: 4.0 Needle: 6DP4 (2nd pos from bottom) Idle jet: 32.5 Float needle jet: 2.0 Atomizer: 389P8 With the TT1, I ran a smaller (1.8) float needle jet with the Mikuni DF52-176 Dual Outlet Pulse Vacuum Fuel Pump ..The rest of the final jetting on the TT1 is too NCR #7 specific, although with the exhaust system, you may - like me; end up with a very small pilot jet (I'm using a 12.5). Palmer told me earlier this week that he was running a very small pilot with the 41s as well - with a needle that had an even finer taper. I've been buying from Sudco. Hope that helps.. |
