swing arm on the paso has a smaler spindle than the pantah motors, and the swing arm on the paso pivots in the swing arm not in the motor lile the pantah this leaves me with mounting the swing arm on the smaler diameter spindle i think its around 15mm and the pantah is around 28mm makeing spacers for the harris arm and haveing the Harris arm pivot on the spindle and not clamped to it and pivoting in the crank cases as the pantah. but it looks like a lot hanging on a 15mm spindle for the swing arm to me ! I can make a couple of extra mounts for the 15 mm spindle at each outer end bolted to the frame for the spindle to help suport it as the paso frame has the same principal.?? open to any and all sugestions.

Gary Patton, and probably others, has had machining done to the cases of a Paso and then added "bushes" to the outside with provision for oil seals and the 28mm pin. Maybe he will chime in. MikeV

the paso cases have bushes pressed in to accept the small spindle, you can press the bushes out of the paso cases, and modify them ( you will have to split the cases first) simply put them in a lathe, and make the hole bigger. also you will have to machine a extra step for oil seals.

Paso cases can be used with some work. They are narrower at the swingarm mount by 10 mm compared to the pantah. Whats more important is most of this is to the sprocket side. The block castings are the same so boring it for bushings can be done. You will loose some of the bushing footprint mostly on the left side. If its a mildly tunned motor not intended for the track then go ahead and fit spacers. 9mm on left and 1 mm on right will need to be added to equal the pantah. If its a race motor Id consider finding the proper cases or carefully welding that left spacer on before boring. -Cranky-

THANKS SO FAR GUYS, I am looking at suporting the outer ends of the swing arm spindle with some 8 or 10 mm alloy plate to stiffen up the spindle mountings, I have one mocked up in wood looks like it will work. The picture is showing how close theS/A is to the sprocket. It actualy touches but I think there is room to ease things there. Also looking for a rear shock I see steve has them for sale but with shipping and taxes I will need to find something in the UK, Any sugestions ? Also looking at carbs now I am thinging the easy route is a pair of new dellortos not badly priced here. or are there better choices. And thanks to Cranky for the info on the measurements.

Hello old boy, speak to Richard Adams at Maxton Engineering . It's the one with the mauve spring which you require , and they are made to measure . Attachment:
