What is the tightest valve to valve clearance on overlap you can run on a Desmo donk. What’s the tightest you can get away with. A mate has ran as tight as 20thou and has no problems. Let me hear your thoughts. Boucher.

I recently asked a few on this site that same question. Always thought it had to be about .060” for no conflict. One gave an answer around .050”, and another said .015” worked fine on a real race bike! I decided to not worry about the .038” on the factory-replica Pantah racer using ORSP cams, and it ran past 9000 at a track day with no problems. Will use the .040” +/- measured on the current (slow to progress) TT2 project heads using 900ss horizontal cams. Maybe I will fudge down on some later build?

I would also like to hear from others out there.
