Post subject:  Alloy Tank

I'm sure a petrol/fuel tank is a technical topic since we're needing fuel to get the technical bits active.

Years ago, back about 1988 I bought an alloy tank from Asa Moyce at Bartel which was maybe a bit crude but after some modifications and a little welding survived any number of on and off track incidents, large and small. I now very much wish another but can't seem to connect with Bartel. Would anyone know if they've moved, still make Ducati and other alloy tanks or is it they now have caller display and my number is known?

With ethanol everywhere in greater or lesser degrees, a fibreglass tank is risky business for track use.

Hopefully, someone will have knowledge of alloy tanks being currently produced for substantially less than the ones from Japan listing at something like $US2,000.

Thanks for any logistical help,

Fran

M. le chien,

So I sent my inquiry to Mecaservisio but no reply, likely they're busy building alloy tanks.

Thanks for the link, those are very nice.

If you are in Australia Bernie Willet in Melbourne builds excellent alloy tanks, although there is a waiting list.

No one's mentioned these. Price is steep but high quality work.

I knew him, but prices are demential...
However, according to the price list, I'm potentially rich with the spare Roadracing alloy tank that I grabbed for my Monster 8-)
