1976 900 SS also came with "shaved" F 08 brake calipers. |

Hey... The 1980 900ss I sadly don't own anymore also came with the shaved calipers. I think they were spawned because of clearance issues with the spoke wheels of the 750ss. Regards.... Flattop |

Hi peterbike.... I will gladly post my results. If you are just looking to do a replica gold line, other than the color and aluminum pistons there's really no difference between them. Even the lips for the dust seals were retained, unlike the 08s where they were machined off. It's hard to tell from pictures whether the front and back were cleaned up or the faces perpendicular to the dust seal lips. As far as shaving the sides, I'm going to measure the thickness of the bore bottoms of a P4 30/34 and see if the 05 has the material to meet that spec after machining. If not it's a no-go. Regards... I don’t think they used TI bolts on them back then flattop. Or, they were not delivered that way. MikeV |

Hi Mike... I believe you are correct. The titanium hardware is going to be a little weight reducing upgrade. regards... Flattop |
