Some might see the plans as heresy, but after lusting about a TT build, some circumstances may have allowed me to begin.

I found this for a crazy cheap price (you get what you pay for) on a Japanese auction site. Shipping to Canada won't be cheap, but the total outlay will be far less than a frame from TGA or the like. The seller claimed it was a Harris frame, but a quick email to them and they indicated it wasn't one of theirs.
The plan -- I have a monster 600 engine (2000) with a 680 kit from fast by Ferracci. A set of racked 33mm FCRs, also from Japan and made for Monster 400s and 600s.

I've also go a 900ss alu rear swingarm, a 5 spoke marchesini to go with, and a oddball front end I plan to fit (secret until I know it's gonna work).
The end result will be a fun vintage trackday bike.
Wondering if a F3 tank from a Ducati 350 would work with the frame? Again, they are cheaper than an aluminum one, and I have the skills to modify it to work with the modern intakes and racked carbs.

Based on the wide space above the cams, the brackets for a horn and steering damper, and the plate for the instrument bracket up front, it looks like a modified F1 or F3 frame. Have fun. MikeV

Hi MikeV, thanks for the insight. I can't PM you directly as I'm new here, interested in your tank. Can you email me at jksheppard@wcgwave.ca

Thanks.

So I got right to it, as soon as the frame arrived.

Ducati 680 engine (Monster 600 overbored with an Fast by Ferracci kit), 900ss swingarm, triumph 675 front end, FCR carbs. Some careful measuring meant that I had to modify the rear shock mount to get the proper swingarm angle -- originally just over 8 degrees, according to the experts, should be between 10 and 12 degrees. I set it at 10.5 with the 330mm shock; I'll be getting an aftermarket shock with adjustable length to further adjust the angle if necessary. New shock mounts are tacked in place, will get them tig welded.

Hi Riversbikes, I'd like to apologize for not seeing this sooner. I approved your post as I saw it was lingering since February! I have been dealing with a family tragedy that has had me missing for some 7 months. Again my apologies. Best Regards, Lou
