Last Thursday, Robbie Nigl's stepson, Daniel Peladeau, was a last second replacement for me in the CCS race series licensing school at Loudon, NH. I bailed out because of my hip issue and extremely hot weather. Wearing a complete set of not very well fitting gear (the borrowed helmet did fit) and riding my TT for the very first time, Daniel made good steady progress all day. A TT is actually a little big for him, a 125GP bike would be a perfect fit. The last lesson is a full practice race. He got his worst start of the day due to being in second gear, but worked his way thru the field to win. Since everything was in place, we figured he should enter a LRRS race Saturday so he would be a fully licensed Novice. Morning practice went well, the first session was even on a wet track. He was gridded on the second (back) row of the second wave. First wave was a faster class. He launched perfectly and was first to turn one in his wave. He then proceeded to work his way up to fourth overall. Quite a successful outing for someone with very limited previous street or track riding experience. He has a little more time on dirt bikes. Now we have to figure out what to do with this kid. One thing we know for sure, the TT has given us another great time.
