The rain has held off so far today and we got the TT/F1 parade lap in. Pat led us on a Mule quad and we circulated for a lap and a half. Everyone was well behaved (unfortunately). And every time I looked over at Carlo he was putting his hand on his chest and looking to the sky. That Italian passion.
Hopefully someone got some pics. I'll post more of "the scene" .

Graeme Wish you were there too, Graeme.. I had the Bimota out on the track all day Friday and while I was sitting on the hot pit waiting to go out during one of the sessions, the rear carb came loose from the rubber (bumpy track, loose clamp..). Quick fix. The Bimota rocked. A brilliant event that brought some amazing people and machines together to honor Jimmy, Pat & Reno. Great to have Carlo and Antonella there and a special thanks to Mike Vogt for driving clear across the country with his gnarly 900-based special. If we had an award for best sounding machine, he would have won 'hands-down'. Mike Weber did an incredible job on the logistics. Thanks also to Seth for making the big tent happen. Great event for me; I got to ride, watch the races, visit and generally hang-out and take in the scene. I'm just going through the pics, but here are a few faves:

WOW! What an amazing time we had. I am sure more pictures will get posted. We missed all of our Forum pals that couldn't be there. Along with Pat Slinn and Reno Leoni a special appearance was made by the late Jimmy Adamo's daughters. The oldest (Jaime) being only three and Danielle an infant when he was tragically killed at Daytona in 1993. They were overwhelmed by his accomplishments and the people that he touched over the years. We gave Reno and Pat 'Lifetime Achievement' Awards and the girls special Adamo replica helmets. I don't think we had a dry eye in the garage! Special thanks to Cranky Roller (Mike Weber, and today is his birthday!), Richie Paxson, Enzo Assante, Steve Munro, Ralph Stechow, Carlo and Antonella, Reno, Pat, Chris Jensen, Doug Donelan, Bill Swenson, Seth Wolins, Lucy Berritto, Bern Bressel and his boys, Mike Vogt, Steve Dangelo (I paint), Jane Kennedy, and all the people for their unbelievable generosity. With money, time, effort, blood, sweat and tears, lots of them. A great group of people with a real love and passion for the machines and people behind them that we enjoy so much. Thanks again to everyone that helped make this a very special event. I also want to apologize for not thanking everyone during the awards, I was a little nervous speaking in front of the crowd of people as well as a little 'burnt out'. Please forgive me for that. Lou

For an event focused on light, loud, fast and gorgeous Pantahs this one was incredibly people-focused. The Jimmy Adamo Memorial ceremony - with the Adamo Replica helmets presented to Jaime and Dainelle, the Lifetime achievement awards to Pat & Reno, Pat's birthday cake, the Jimmy Adamo Memorial Race and the trophies for top Amature and Expert P89 racers, the bikes took a backseat to the people around them. A herculean effort by Mike W & Lou with lots of help from Ralf, Jane and a host of others.
Lots of great memories: walking into a group of racers huddled around another racer who launched into a full-blown TV caliber weather forecast (he was indeed the local TV weatherman), Mike Vogt talking me through his Fiat Abarth scrap book, meeting Enzo in person, getting to know '70s superbike collector Brian O'Shea (he brought Wes Cooley's Suzuki and Bubba Shobert's VFR), hanging with Pat, Reno, Carlo & Antonella and the entire Northeast gang that I only see once or twice a year, meeting Jimmy's daughters, and finally riding the track at a decent pace.
...And Mike got us into garage #26. Coincidence - or just Cranky's legendary fastidious attention to detail?
Thanks again to everyone that had a part in making the event happen!
