The TT/F1 group would like to invite enthusiasts to the 4th annual TT/F1 symposium. This year’s event will take place September 2nd -4th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway www.nhms.com a tight twisty track in the northest US. This gathering will combine bike diplay activities with on track racing opportunities.
Sept 2nd - Featuring modern club racing by Loudon Road Racing Series www.lrrsracing.com which has a P-89 class catering to TT/F1 bikes.
Sept 3rd - Featuring vintage racing with United States Classic Racing Association www.race-uscra.com having multiple classes for TT/F1 bikes.
Sept 4th-Featuring track day with Fishtail Riding School www.fishtailridingschool.com for a more relaxed on track experience.

This event will be a little less formal than the "Barber extravaganza" . There still are plans to set aside an area to congregate and display racing and show bikes. Make plans and come have some Fun!

I'm obviously in!

But, is there really such a thing as a "more relaxed on track experience"?

Thanks for putting this together Mike - great to see the event move to a track-oriented venue.

Let's make some noise!

TT/F1 Symposium Racing and riding guidelines

For those wishing to participate on track here is a quick guide. LRRS would be the highest level of competition. If you have recent experience in modern/vintage racing on a TT/F1 you should be comfortable with this group. The second level would be USCRA vintage racing. Being only vintage bikes on track the average lap times are slower. Lastely the Fishtail track day offers the most relaxed approach including entry level to advanced.

LRRS racing requirements (see rules for tech requirement www.lrrsracing.com ). Any current AHRMA,WERA,CCS,USCRA or VRRA license is accepted for this event. Friday preceding is Penguin Racing School ( www.penguinracing.com ) They also offer afternoon open practice. Saturday LRRS has racing with classes appropriate for TT/F1. It would be helpful to have a brief racing resume prepared of past 2 years for placement/classification. If you do not have experience at this track it is recommended to enter as amateur. Suggested entries P-89 light (featured on Sunday) and formula 50 light (Saturday).

USCRA racing requirements (see rules for tech requirements www.race-uscra.com ). Any current racing license is accepted. This is a sanctioned AMA event which will require all competators to have a current AMA memebership. Suggested entries Formula 1 and 2, Masters and Supermasters

Fishtail riding school track day (see requirements www.fishtailridingschool.com )

Regarding USCRA rules:

TT's and F1's are in USCRA Period IV, and Period IV bikes are not eligible for the Masters and Super Masters races.

Also, the use of tire warmers, rain tires, and slicks is against USCRA Period IV rules.

Hay Pantahgoodie Thanks for the fact checking in regard to USCRA rules. F1 and TT are not eligable for the Masters and Supermasters class. That leaves them to the following classes and rules. NOTE -They do not enforce these rules to the letter and many F1 bikes are rather "updated".
5.8 Period IV Classes: Formula 1, Formula 2
5.8.1 Formula 1
Eligibility cut-off: Dec. 31st, 1985, No updating beyond this year.
Similar, later models without performance improvements may
apply in writing for approval. The use of tire warmers is permitted
for Formula 1.
• 4-stroke air-cooled, steel frame
unlimited displacement (1103cc maximum)
• 2-stroke 750cc maximum
5.8.2 Formula 2
Eligibility cut-off: Dec. 31st, 1985, no updating beyond this year.
Similar, later models without performance improvements may
apply in writing for approval.
• 4-stroke air-cooled 650cc maximum
• 2-stroke liquid cooled 350cc maximum
• 2-stroke air-cooled 500cc maximum

Damn - you're right again Cranky. Here's the rules section regarding tires in "4.7 General Rules Applicable to All Roadracing Classes":

8. Tires: Treaded tires only; no slicks, or slicks treaded after
manufacture (exception: Modern 125GP) The use of tire
warmers is permitted for Modern125GP and Formula 1 ONLY.

That now sounds vague enough. Rain tires are treaded tires.
