Hi Paul, no I don't think it was new, but it seemed original to me and barely used. I believe it was one of the last ones made, just because of the components used. If I recall they were asking 13k at the time. It might as well been a million bucks because I couldn't afford it! Lou

The same bike today. Some changes, some okay, some not. Right hand shift, spools added to the seat and battery strap across the top of the battery (incorrect), some lunatic cut the spools off the swingarm, back in the day, but otherwise beautiful. History needs to be found. Lou

Hi Mike, sorry for the delay in answering I was trying to find some pictures to help illustrate (I'll keep looking). So both battery hold down straps are the same rubber size. On a TT2, the battery box 'holder' is in the fiberglass seat, and spools are mounted on either side of the fiberglass. The strap then goes over the opening in the seat top. They made very few TT1's as Pat Slinn will tell you, but the ones I've seen have a fabricated, aluminum battery tray that is bolted to the frame rails. Inserted in the open end frame tubes is a solid piece of round aluminum long enough to allow holes to be drilled and threaded in the frame tubes for 4-6x1 bolts. On this tray are 4 aluminum spools, (like tank spools) to strap the battery perpendicular to the top of seat strap. Hope this doesn't sound like mishmash. I'll find some pictures. Usually if you see a real TT1 with an alloy swingarm, they will not have an over the top strap. Remember none of this is a rule, Just a guideline. Just my observations. I'll find some pics I promise. So I drove to Cincinnatti on Friday (10 hours). Woke up Saturday morning and drove to Jerry Dean's house full of Ducati history. I picked up the TT1 in the previous pictures and a 450 yellow Desmo my friend bought. Jumped back in my van and drove another 10 hours To my buddy Chris Jensens and dropped off the 450. Fell asleep, woke up and drove the last hour and a half home. Unloaded the TT1. It was all a blur. Today I removed the number plates, now it looks more like I remember her. Better pictures to follow. Needs a bunch of work as it hasn't been touched in years, but for now I'm working on finding out all the history. Lou
