The first picture is the start/finish line at Sears Point. The reason I think this is that you can see the spectator bridge being built in the background. I can't remember what year it was completed but it was built during that period. Until then when a race was on you where stuck in the inside of the track. Marc

Cool, is that "Alazzurra" still with us? I would say that photo is 1984, Laguna, 2nd row, with #29 Sam McDonald finishing 2nd, #11 Roberto Pietri 3rd, #80 Pat Hernon 8th, and #72 R.T. Hampton 10th in a red flag ending race won by Merkel. Quarterly, Adamo, and #85 Devin Battley are not listed in results.
