I love when "new" old bikes appear as if from no-where and are now-here!

Can anyone help with the provenance?

Hi Mike, I love this bike! I guess if she were mine, I would start with DM. I think they are in Bologna. Reno Leoni took me to visit. I know 'Diego' has passed away but I think someone still with the company would know about the first TT frame! Great pictures as always from Phil. Lou

Well DM Telai are still in business and if you want a TT frame you can still buy one! ;)

I have noticed one thing in the photo that would put doubt on the claim that this bike was built by Reno Leoni :o

Though it is not all bad... it may have been built by an equally acclaimed Ducati engineer and much revered guru who operated out of Milan! His Name - Mario Rognoni who is known as Voronoff.

Ducati by Voronoff, (not Leoni) says so on the fairing ;)

Thanks for posting the link Bill, what a beauty.
Is the frame nickel plated?

Hi Paul, I agree with you. I think they call that 'satin' nickel. Lou

Lou, I have seen some frames done with what was called electroless nickel which gave it a slightly rough finish.

Yeah, that's my customer (we built Yellow Bike III for him) and friend Basil. The reference to Reno building the bike is something lost in translation between Basil and Phil I think. Bottom line is that Basil doesn't know who built it.

Very cool bike, though. Sounds ultra-nice - wish I know what the cam timing was...

There are a couple of short, but sweet vids of his outing on the bike at the island: http://youtu.be/ioojOXNBTQM , http://youtu.be/Uyt2-SNTMCY and http://youtu.be/O5G9REYi_9U
