Sorry Phil, but this photo is much cooler. I've stared at these two pages for hours.

Bill, I've worn out two copies of this book! I bought my first copy when it came out at a genuine book store. Lou

No matter how long I stare at my own tt2/1,i still find the bike shown to be just perfect, perfect. Whats the story behind the paper weight?

Hi Ian, I can't for the life of me remember what actually caused that sprocket to shed half its teeth. I do remember it happened in a race at Barber about 10 years ago with Robbie on board, and I have a vague guilty feeling that it was due to something stupid that I did. However, I do remember that sprocket was a gift from Lou. Those big offset coarse spline sprockets have been unobtainium for a long time, and I needed one very badly back when I was building that bike. Lou just gave it to me. Sadly, you see how well I took care it.

Hello TT1 lovers, I was studying the photos on Phil Site about the tt1. If you look at file photos 19-20 and 22 it has major welding done to cases. Was this a problem or is it crash/accident damage? Boucher.

I think that was the weak spot on the cases.
I've got a welded 500 case and have seen a couple of others (all 500 or 600, no 350 or 650)
Originally designed for three-point fixation, cutting the lower of the Original frame was common practice.
But while the rear is more rigid and ( due to flexing of the framelugs) can take some pounding, the front right is the first to go.
Think it's because it has a more complex casting at the base of the cylinders and belts.

ciao
ducadini
