If anyone is interested in the details: -

The frame is a Roy Thersby Frame.
Engine standard (rebuilt) 93 900SS with Dellorto PHM 40's on homemade inlet stubs.
Tank and false bottom from Roy...dont know where he got them from!
Forks 998 Ceriani's (apparently..never seen any like them before or since) with a Cycle cat 900SS top yoke (for the 'superbike' forks modified by myself).
Wheels front Monster, rear ST2 both 25mm axles, the rear needed the sprocket carrier from a 900ss (narrower and takes the 520 chain)
Swingarm. Modifed 888 race swing. The axle adjusting modification was already on when I bought it, but I got Roy to weld the underneath bracing on.
Brakes. Front Brembo race, rear MQ (cart brake I think!) with homemade caliper carrier. Front Discs standard 900SL.
Fairing, slightly modified replica F1 fairing from Motoforza in CZ (I live here and they are the cheapest fairings that I have seen anywhere!)
Seat unit from Oldracingspareparts, absolutely terrible quality for the price, huge voids appeared in the gelcoat when sanding down ready for painting! Had to reduce the width at the front too (maybe Roy makes his frames narrower than Verlicchi I dont know)
Front lights Original Carrello spots with homemade bulb shields (that was a bugger trying to get the angle right for streetlegal beam direction!....The spots can be removed in a few seconds for 'racing'...although I doubt if I will!!!)
Rear lights original carello sidelights from an Alfa (I think!) rarer than rocking horse poo and not cheap!
Front mudguard from Old racing spare parts modified for the upside down forks with modified 1000Sport mudguard holders.
Instruments, Replica Veglia race tacho (looking for the black faced one...might fit a Pantah one on instead!) with guzzi veglia speedo and standard 888 Veglia temp gauge (the speedo temp guage and warning light 'dashboard' can be removed in a few seconds to leave only the tachometer and oil pressure light permanently on the bike).
Other bits and bobs...Rearsets modified (by me) ST2 ... Crankcase breather tank ORSP again..needed modifying to fit the frame...very very expensive...wish I had made my own!... front fairing holder (and spotlight holder) modified by me for the quick release bit for the lights.... Sidestand Cagiva Alazzura with homemade RHS bracket! Clutch cover homemade from an old steel one! I like it :-)

As Bugs bunny says... thats all folks!

With its new exhaust!

Entirely fabricated to fit the bike, not an easy job apparently, the fella tried to use F1 downpipes as a pattern, but my fairing is not like the original F1 fairing at all, its narrow where it shouldnt be and wide where it shouldnt be. Its an aftermarket copy of probably an aftermarket copy!

The silencer is a bit longer than what I wanted, but with the rear downpipe being so far back on the bike the fella couldnt make the silencer too short and still fit enough 'wool' in there to pass the local legal noise and emissions tests. It is a race silencer with a decibel killer fabricated for it too!

can I make it shorter though...and paint it matt black :?:

Thanks for the update photos George. The exhaust does look well done, and seems to fit good. Still has the 2-1 on the left style too.

I think that clutch cover trick it good too. But is that Playdough, and will it stay on?

Hi George

I had been following your build on another forum with great interest, unfortunately it seems to be down for a while now.

Would you please post some pics showing how you have mounted the headlights, I have a couple of Carello's too and
haven't figured out an adequate way to mount them yet......hopefully you haven't patented your design :)

Cheers

Joe

Thanks chaps!

MikeV the black stuff on the clutch cover is Milliput a modelling clay... I didnt key it in properly to the surface of the Clutch cover and when I tried to sand it smooth it all came off..all the little sections....one after each other....which had taken me hours to apply!

So I then used a semi rigid plastic...which will probably melt with the heat...dont know yet..if it does I will then mould one out of carbon..seen some mould making kits and carbon laminating kits which I fancy having a play with!

Joe, when I get on my private laptop tonight...I am at work at the moment... :D I will post some pics of the headlight brackets for you.

Lou, I am away from home, I work in Germany and go home only on the weekends, next weekend I will see if I can find a number for you. I tried for ages to find out which lights were used until Oldblue here on this forum told me that they were the same spotlights as used on European Ford Escort XR3i's... he used to have an original Factory customer TT1 and said the lights were identical...and a real pain as they kept vibrating loose and ended up pointing all over the place!..if you go on eBay for the UK or Germany you will usually see the odd Carello or two being sold.

The Carellos are spotlghts so don't have a beam director for street headlight use! I looked on wikipedia about headlights, read about gates shields and so made a couple up for my lights...dont know if they work yet, but the lights when mounted are adjustable in height and partially adjustable for lateral beam direction too...with the gates shields in and the adjustability I reckon I can get them legal enough for street use in CZ!..I have one spot as main beam and the other dipped and which directs the majority of light slightly to the right!
