Hi all, new here. I have the 1988 AMA B.O.T.T pro twins winning 851cc harris framed TT1 built by Ferracci for Pete Johnson in 87 I think but unsure. I'd love to find out more information, racing history and pictures etc. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks from another ducati Nut!

Hello I have spoken with Jeff Nash & he agreed that your TT is the one he raced. Your Harris TT is the sister bike to my Harris TT1 raced by Kurt Liebmann. In 1985 Kurt Liebmann & Pete Johnson bought two Harris "GP" framed TTs from Sports Motor Cycles in England. The first photo is from daytona in 1985 they were both under "Amol" sponsorship at that time & running 18" wheels. Your bike is #141. During 1987 both Kurt & Pete had the bikes prepared by Fast by Ferracci. Russ Paulk raced Pete's bike a few times. The last two pictures are of my TT #6 that Kurt raced & is in as raced condition. Thankfully it has never been "down". You can see that the two bikes were very similar in specification. Jeff Nash said that if you wanted to contact him he would be more that happy to give you the race results from when he raced it down there. Good Luck & thank you for sharing the photo. I was wondering were the Pete Johnson bike had ended up! Ralph

Hi FBFharris, I just got off the phone with Mike V who built the beautiful #8 Slinn/Rutter replica we've admired on the Forum, and he triggered a memory about your Harris. If you look at the pictures below that Ralph supplied you will see the Ferracci livery. I had actually found that bodywork. The fairing (at least ten years ago) on ebay and the tank and tail at a flea market in Ohio. As soon as I saw the tank and tail I knew they belonged to the fairing I had bought. It was a great find. I kept them for years hoping to find the Harris they belonged to but alas, no luck. I then was contacted by a guy in desperate need of Harris fiberglass(we know him as Pantah Good). I sold him the lot for what I paid (not a lot) and the best part about it was I made a new and good friend. He actually gave the tank with the FBF logo to Erado Ferracci, as when he showed it to him he became very excited about it. Sadly Russ Paulk, one of the racers who might have raced your bike, and my old TT1 as well, has long passed away. Pete Johnson as well as Jeff Nash are still around and wouldn't take much effort, on your part to contact and get more info. I will try and dig up some pictures of the old fuel tank and post them. Thanks for sharing with us that beautiful bike. Lou

Thank you So much Ralph and Lou! So It would make this the bike in this Classic racer artical about Johnson and Liebmann from 1987 I found then, I always wondered if it was. It would be great If I could make contact With them as I'm sure they can fill me in on some more history on the bike.

Thanks again Team.

This is what I believe to be the original tank. I love the old 'FBF' hand painted logo. Much nicer than the later decal. Lou

The FBF 851 pictured is the bike "1/4Ley" rode to the 1988 Pro-Twins championship. There is a great story about it in the Jan. 1989 "Cycle World" magazine. The article is also repeated in the "Cycle World - On Ducati, 1982-1991" book, but only with b&w pictures.

I'll put another buck on the line if anyone knows if that bike has survived and is still around.

Bill
