Thought I would post some pics of the TT944 I have recently finished building here at Sports m/c's. A fairly high spec build, including a "reversed" rear 900 head.

I have not yet had it on the dyno. A few miles under it's belt first, but expect 90hp-ish.
The rear head conversion has worked rather well. An awful lot of content to get there but a huge step forward in the end.
Now I am set up with jigs and programs, etc the next move is to convert a batch of ten or so.

Having used for a short while it I find the real benefit is having the cubes. It is much easier to ride than the 750's as you can simply drive it up gears from low revs (with a 6 speed box too) rather than having to thrash the thing to death to make it work. I guess the engine will need much less future attention too. However, I suppose you could thrash this one too. It just means you would get there even sooner than before.

The bike has a full harness and brake light so needs registering and can then be used on the roads here in the UK.

Yes indeed, Tanks made in Yorkshire.

They will soon be made in New Zealand though as we are selling the house and moving just about as far away from here as possible without the aid of a rocket. The whole operation is to be containered and shipped out to NZ. We are settling near to where Steve Wynne retired to in North Island. Who knows what may happen?

Regarding Sports m/c's, things will stay much the same but the post mark will alter, as will the weather.

Hi Carlo,
The forks are Marzocchi 38mm with magnesium lowers. They were widely used during the early eighties on F1/endurance bikes. A sort of grown up version of the TT2 35mm forks fitted to the factory bikes.

Although this particular pair on the 944 are original, I have made patterns from these and will be soon manufacturing a version using teflon bushes. Much the same principle as in the 35mm TT2 replica forks I already make. The F1 forks (when ready) will be available with mag lowers at 41mm diameter using Kawasaki stanchions and cartridges. This gives a period set of forks with compression, pre-load and rebound adjustment at a more affordable price.

A batch of the forks lowers are now cast and being gun drilled, but will be a little while yet before they are done. Towards the end of the year I guess.
