Fairing and chin being prepped for paint. I like the look and it feels small and light around town. I am thinking of painting this old race bodywork just red with no decals for use later.

Steve, I bought the bike from Cagiva North America in 1987. Duane Summers was racing it and replaced it with a 851. It had a small crack in the case above the cam pulley. I raced it a year before getting replacement cases from Jimmy Adamo. After another year I went overseas for 2 years while the bike was in storage. Since then I have been riding it off and on around Southern California. I have rebuilt the bike a couple of times over the years and have finally gotten ahold of OEM fiberglass, old race stuff, and am repairing it. I haven't decided on the paint scheme yet, either original or all red. The bike is really comfortable for long trips for me and I have ridden to Laguna Seca many times. The bike will remain a fixture in m garage for a long time. Henry |

Ya know, Air Tech still makes F1 body work. It's decent quality and not all that expensive. |

Wdietz186, That is what is on there now. It's REALY thin and a lot of painters will not paint it without a ton of extra strengthening fiberglass work done first. The seat needed strengthening ribs glassed into the seat pan area and the flat horizontal tail area needed strengthening. I think Air Tech will do double glass if you request it and pay more. Henry |

The Dude (seriously, that's his name.) Nationals Fiberglass 517 Beacon St Akron, OH 44311 330-762-4527 <- May be dead number New -> 330-209-5128 He made molds off my F1B bodywork 20 years ago. The upper may not have a headlight hole. And my front fender is the same as a Montjuich. He takes his time*, and his stuff looks better than OEM or A*r T*ch. Or anybody I've seen. Tell him Desmo Dan sent you. *-(Really.It may take 3 weeks, it might take 3 months.He makes a lot of stuff for the WERA guys.) . |

I have to second this recommendation. I was looking for his reference yesterday, and forgot. The stuff is of good proportions, straight, and sturdy. And very reasonable prices. MikeV |

Wow "The Dude" is still in business? I use to race against him in the 80's at Nelson Ledges and buy his fiberglass. His stuff was always good quality. Thanks for the contact information. Palmer |
