Here is another interesting item I have stolen from the 851/888 forum to have fun with. http://cartoonize.net/ A website that will "cartoonize" photos for you. Attached is one I tried, and am now using for a screen saver image. BTW, I tried to make an avatar again, but as usual the file was too big. Is there a trick to submitting photos for an avatar, or a way to reduce file sizes so they would work? Bill

Not a bad looking image Bill. An easy way to resize an image is by running it through Microsoft Paint: Open Paint Go to "File / Open" and find the image you want to resize Go to "Image / Stretch/Skew" Change the Horizontal & Vertical percentages to a lesser figure than 100% (start by using 80% for each & see what you end up with). Select "OK" then "Save" (will overwrite your original file) or "Save As" (will save as a new image & keep your existing file) & you're done. Clinton |

Hi Clinton, Using your directions, I was able to reduce to size of the picture I'd like to use down to 90 x 90 pixels, but the file size was only down to 17.0 KB and needs to be a max of 6.0 KB. Is there a way for a computer klutz to do that? I did try reducing the pixel size down to where you couldn't even see it any more, but the file size didn't really get much smaller. I'm stuck. Thanks, Bill |

Decided to squander some more time on an avatar. Downloaded IrfanView after googleing reducing a photos file size. With this you can reduce the photos file size by "saving as" with a lower quality. Worked my way down to the lowest setting. The file was 90x90 and 6.83 KB, over the 6 KB limit, and looking more like a tile floor or a quilt. This is the same photo I used for an avatar on the 851/888 forum without a problem. Are our avatar limits here set a little too low? Bill
