Tail lights for the endurance racer. These are Carellos like the original Ducati lights. Just stuck to some double sided tape to see how it looks. Work in progress. Lou

Hi Cal, I'd have to ask Carlo on this one. The fender that came with the Moretti kit #003 had 4 'windows' molded into the fiberglass, so I cut 4. I like asymmetrical and strange so why not. I'm using the fender bracket because of the forks I'm using. The Carlo made flat bracket had to be cut to size to fit the forks and fork mounts. Then shaped with the shot bag and a few hammers to the curve of the fender and the compound curve in the center. Next, bend the ears a bit to level the fender. Sand away all the nicks and gouges. I'm at 400 right now. I drilled the mounting holes (4) and just two holes to hold the fender to the bracket, and used Cleco's. Looks good for now. I'm a little embarrassed to say this fender bracket job took hours and hours to do and I'm not done. I've taken years to build this bike because I promised myself I'd make something special to coincide with Carlos epic accomplishment of building these Moretti's. It's going to be my idea of a Moretti period endurance racer. Polish next and make hardware. Lou

Now that you mention the fender holes, I have one where the perforations aren't the same on one side as the other (4 on one side, one on the other). I bought it like this in Italy a few years ago and I always wondered if they forgot to drill the rest  or if it was built like this for a specific motorcycle.

Regards.
P.D.Nice fender bracket.

Thanks! Put the front end on today. That felt good. Now to keep moving on the body work, rear campy, clutch line, rear brake line etc! Easy right! Lou

Those are some Really Big brakes for such a small light bike! Stoppies ahead. This will be another masterpiece. MikeV

PS: That rear sprocket is a goner.

Yes that rear sprocket is a goner Mike. Decided to make Dzus fastener mounts for the seat today. Used pre-made plates and bent them, drilled them and cleaned up the burrs. These will eliminate the bolts holding the seat base and sides. Have some ideas for a quick release system for the rear of the tail. I'll add some more pictures tomorrow. Will weld up tomorrow. This is just a mock up. Thanks Paul! Lou

Thanks Paul, now just getting some shape into the fairing. Which is really a bit of work as we all know! Maybe tomorrow I'll mock up the fairing to the bike so I can rough out a fairing subframe and oil cooler mount. Then mount the windscreen. Some brackets will be made when I get her where she looks best. By the way Cleco's are the world's greatest invention when mocking up a fairing! Lou

You have been pushing Clecos so long i think you have stock in them. If so, it just went up in value - i bought a “starter” set off ebay. MikeV
