Just mated the fairing to the frame by just jacking it up in place. More trimming needs to be done. You can see the right side angle is wrong in relation to the frame I believe. Trying to position it then make the side brackets. That should help me figure out the subframe for the fairing. Lou

I see the difference Lou. Are you sure the tops of both sides of the lower panel are at the same angle, or have the same sloping line. It seems often these things are different from side to side, and some material has to be removed in an attempt to make them symmetrical. Same problem with a lot of fiberglass vintage parts; tails and tanks and fenders. But you know this. Drove myself nuts working on “Spaggiari” Pantah seat/tail before i could live with it. MikeV

I am surprised this did not come with the front bracket.

Dearest Lou, dearest friends, I'm sorry I can't be here to comment on the wonderful work my brother Lou is doing. I was hit on the street while riding my Monster. I have four compound fractures in my left foot and a fracture under the head of the tibia, also in my left leg, and other things I won't mention.
In the meantime, I lost my mother, who turned 99 on April 9th, the day of my accident, and she passed away three days later while I was returning from visiting her in a nursing home where she was living.
I had to sort out all the things you have to do when a parent leaves you. My mother had a long life with her problems, but she was lucid and thoughtful until the end. My mother, born in 1927, was a warrior, and I can say I was immensely fortunate to share 62 years with her.
As soon as I have the strength and morale to write, I will.
Dearest Lou, you're doing a great job. Moretti's fairings and frames were made with hand-made molds, and he always said that if you look at a bike from the right, you don't see the left side.
See you soon, guys, see you soon, my brother Lou.
You're doing great.
Carlo

Oh Carlo, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. Thankfully she had a long life with a devoted son. I lost both my parents decades ago. They are always with us. I'm even more sorry you have had an accident and are so beat up my friend, please take it easy and heal up. We miss you! As far as the fairing is concerned, it is no concern. All fiberglass needs work, I wasn't complaining. You never know till it's mounted how it will have to be shaped. It's part of making it beautiful no? Feel better my friend, I think I can speak for all of us on the Forum in wishing you a speedy recovery and our condolences for your loss. Love you brother! Lou

So sorry to hear of your injury and your loss Carlo. A reminder, again, for me, that when i feel sorry for myself that someone else is facing bigger problems. Heal quickly. Antonella will not put up with your complaining for long. MikeV

Dearest Lou, dearest friends, thank you for your kind words. I know you're not complaining, Lou, just as I know my wife is using the patience of 2028.
Today I had my cast removed, the internal wounds healed, and the stitches were removed. Everything is going pretty well, but I can't put my foot down for another 15 days because the fractures are displaced, but fortunately they're fairly aligned. Let's say I've fractured them in five places, but they're constructive.
Now I have a brace that immobilizes my ankle, and I have to do physical therapy to try to move it.
I think everyone in this group knows what I'm talking about; asphalt always wins.
Lou, you're doing great, and your bike will be the most beautiful and well-finished of all the ones we've ever built, because you're obsessive about detail.
The war isn't over, because I'm still fighting a battle.
Everyone tells me I have my mother's personality, maybe so!
You all are my family.
Hello from an Italian Spaghetti Eater.
PS: Two months ago she was born on April 9, 1927.

Thank you for the wonderful picture of you and your mother! Your mother gave you the ability to have passion and the hands to bring that passion to life. How can you ask for more. May she rest in peace. Sounds like you are healing well Carlo. Take it slow my friend, I know that is not easy for someone who always wants to go faster. My mother left me with patience, I love her for that. Obviously Antonella has that patience as well. Hopefully she and I will rub off on you so you can take it easy. Lou
