Y'know I'm loath to suggest this, but at the moment I am trying to figure out how to fit a nice shiny Ducati aluminum swinging-arm to a poor innocent Pantah TL engine, and the numbers devised by Ducati for this quasi-obvious undertaking are making my head ring...........! So in an attempt to offload my thought process, I'm suggesting that we get this forum to ease the process.............. Basically, can we not run a simple "What size is a Ducati rear-wheel spigot-clamp on a 1977 Sport 915?" database?

We surely have minds more able than mine (Steve, Lou, Cranky, Mike V, Fran........et al) who can provide the numbers, and many of the parameter are more or less easy to come by, but our chums in Borgo Panigale HAVE rung the changes on a few items, particularly swinging-arm pivot pins. F'r example:

Bevel 750SS, 900SS 29mm
Darmah 28mm (I think...)
Pantah 28mm

That's all Folks....................................................!!!

I'm sorry. What was the question? Maybe this belongs in one of the technical areas. MikeV

Basically my post was a call to arms.
I am proposing simply that we provide a simple list of basic dimensions of the parameters of the bikes with which we are dealing. Dimensions such as:

Front Fork Stanchion Diameter,
Front Wheel Spindle Diameter,
Front Disc Size,
Head Bearing Size,
Swinging Arm Pivot Pin Diameter,
Rear Wheel Spindle Diameter,
Rear Disc Size,

........for most of the Ducatis which are chosen as donor bikes for the TT and F1 projects covered in this site. I have seen elsewhere on the web, a site which gives front fork stanchion sizes for almost ALL bikes currently in use. Obviously we need not be quite so comprehensive. I am also sure that guys like Steve no doubt have most of these numbers in their heads.
Any takers, folks.....................................?
