Need help locating a source for a couple new 11mm body dia. x 20mm grip length quick release pins as used on the Brembo MK1 quick release caliper set ups, similar to any of the ones pictured (preferably the older/lighter bottom one). I can't find any place that stocks that size, and no manufacturer will talk unless you'll place a huge minimum order....which seems to have a familiar ring to it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Bill, Avibank was the company that made the pins. Did they tell say you need a minimum order? I bought these pins from them many, many years ago for around $35 each. Ah those were the days. They sometimes come up on ebay, or if you have a nice set of the big ones I would trade you. I find the small ones a pain to remove easily. Lou

I'm still trying to find a way to talk to someone at Avibank who could tell me if any of their distributors have a couple of 11 x 20 pins in stock somewhere. The big pin in the middle is the only one I have - I guess - I can't find the other one. The top one (I have a pair) are Avibank ones I got from Carr Lane several years ago. They are 11mm, but the grip length is 1.00 inch. I may have to bond spacers on them to shorten their grip length to 20mm. There are several other q-r pin manufactures out there, but none of them list 11mm pins.

A late reply to this topic but maybe helpful to those looking for what you call Q-R pins.

Firstly they are better known in the aero world as PIP pins & they turn in the UK quite regularly as EX WD surplus in sizes not always that useful to us but now & then they can be had very cheaply in comparison to new prices.

Secondly the majority of pins made were in imperial sizes not metric. I have a NOS set of P432 (think that the # from memory) QD Brembos on brackets made for M1R forks & they have PIPs on both caliper mount & for pad retention from new - imperial sized.

The sizing codes on Avibanks is a 4 digit code after the pin type e.g pin type 3201 code 0415.

04 is the pin diameter in sixteenths of an inch i.e a quarter inch diameter pin
15 is the grip length in tenths of an inch - shoulder to ball - i.e 1.5"

The 11mm pin you are looking for is actually a 7/16" diameter one. The grip length will probably be 8/10" for the hanger PIP. A suitable pin would be an Avibank 0302 0708 in that case.
