I guess this is one way to avoid years of collecting vintage parts! Have no idea if it is authentic, but it sure looks nice. Comments about its heritage from anyone --- Carlo, Lou? MikeV

I guess if I were in the market for a TT1 with history, I would like to see some of the history. Period pictures of this machine being raced, ownership records from day one, you know that kind of stuff. As far as the bike itself is concerned it is a bit of a mix of TT2, TT1 and modern or reproduction parts. Has early 1981 stamp on one of the heads but a modern clutch and an even more modern clutch housing. TT2 pipe, TT2 style rubberband holding the battery in the seat. TT1 bodywork, repro torque arm and hanger for rear brake. Shock looks modern as well, wrong handlebars. Bikes get raced, parts get changed, no problem if this were the case, just seems like too little information to make an educated assumption, and too many 'off' parts to scream original. My TT2 looks nothing like it did when it first raced as a TT2, now it looks like a typical race 'mongrel'. Lucky for me a lot of this was well documented and we've know the bike through all it's owners, and have pictures to prove it. Lou

Does a Brian Larrabure (sp?) own a 1983 TT1 raced by Oscar La Ferla? I have photos of that bike, and there is a short youtube video of the bike on the net. It certainly did not need a restoration, and has more period stuff, some unique, on it. MikeV

I don't know the race history of Brian's TT1. But it is the real deal and has some very unique parts that only some of the factory race bikes had like Italian Presblock period quick disconnect fittings on the fuel tank/hoses:

Dear Lou, we have to be very careful with the Italians, the name Oscar La Ferla, is an epitome of excellence and rarity of the item in question, but a race bike is not only made by a sticker with a famous name on a windshield of a fairing.

There are some very nice components, but there are also things that clash with the whole of this bike.

Why was it removed all signs of ancient battles on the track, if these parts are those that significantly increase the price?

I fully agree with my friend Lou. Carlo.

ps. war wounds of my TT2 Sakamoto

Carlo. Second photo --- OUCH! The only thing that looks battle-worn on the eBay TT is the Brembo rotors and rims of the Marvics. Many other things look like from Carlo and/or ORSP. MikeV
