FOR SALE: BIMOTA DB1-R, ex Dale Quarterly
Year of manufacture: 1985
VIN #: DB1-00210
Engine #: DM600L-702640
Offered for sale is this iconic Bimota DB1-R as raced by legendary American rider, Dale Quarterly.
The motorcycle is presented in excellent preserved condition, as last raced.
Originally supplies by Canadian Bimota distributor Francesco (Franco) Romanelli of Moto 2001, Quebec, the motor was built & tuned to full race spec by Fast By Ferracci owner Eraldo Ferracci, featuring the very highest spec performance parts of its era, along with Ferracci’s extensive knowledge of Ducati performance tuning.
In the hands of Quarterly, this is the machine that secured many important race wins throughout the U.S. during the 1985-‘86 seasons, including significant wins at Sears Point & Laguna Seca Raceway during that period.
Having changed hands only a couple of times since Quarterley’s ownership, the DB1-R has resided in a private Canadian collection for some years. Commissioned in the recent past by a well known and respected Ducati trained technician, the DB1-R will need only a cursory check over before firing up its motor.
Further details and fully detailed spec available upon request.
Offered for sale at $55,000USD, the DB1-R is located in Ontario, Canada. The motorcycle is being sold as is, where is. Crating and shipping assistance can be offered to the new owner at cost.
Please contact Paul Murphy, Meticulous Moto Restorations at 780-850-9041 or e-mail: prosportbimota@gmail.com quoting “Bimota DB1-R for sale” in the subject line.

I thought they all came with Monjuich motors. This is a well used racebike that's been around. Replacement cases are fairly normal. Wonder what the internals are! Hopefully it still has the magnesium Bimota dry clutch. If I could have a DB1 racer, this would be nice. I have pictures of it racing against a bike of mine. I've had dinner with Dale and he is a super nice and funny guy. A good story teller and racer. Lou

Did Ducati ever make a 600cc bike with the double tap for the oil cooler? If not the Alazzurra cases would have been a better choice.
