Ok, It seems that we may have inadvertently struck a more interesting (though curiously off key) chord via the Build of the year thread as everyone is more keen to describe what they have NOT done over the past year or decades than to re-post pictures of their completed builds.

That make sense! There are surely more of us who have spent most of 2014 (and many previous decades in some cases) in idle contemplation in their sheds, sharing a beer or similar with their Build Project/s.

If, while reading this, you are wondering off into some Zen like state reminiscing your build, this thread is for you! You can share your procrastination with us as there is no judgement here. No wife or partner to say - You've been looking at that thing for 20 years!

Perhaps we should call this thread, Zen and the art of motorcycle building. What a peaceful place that is.

Mark I cannot boast any yet to be completed projects from the 1970s so you may be in the lead, BUT, to be eligible you do need to post some pictures of your entry. 8-)

I will kick of the thread with my project that has be going since 1994

I started my 750 F1 (a series II '85 model) project back in 1994 after the bike got submerged in the 1993 Benalla flood. My brother - service manager at that time of our family's GM dealership offered to fix it for me. He promptly stripped it down to the crankcases, and there it sat in a basket until 2011 when I felt an urge (it happens!) to move the project on a bit. I collected all the pieces of it and its stable mate - my 82 600 Pantah in MHR equipe and dropped them off at Ian Gowanloch's farm with strict instructions for Ian not to take longer than another 17 years to get them back on the road!

So there you have it gentlemen, I am 20 years into the project and I have plans to procrastinate for a further 14!

Do model airplane projects count? I'm actually picking back up on this control-line profile Spad for this winter. I have been "waiting for the glue to dry" on the fuselage since the mid-seventies.

That looks like an 8 foot light fixture on the wall. I'll bet it will need substantial ropes instead of fishing line and TWO hands!
