My goodness - it was a long way from that fate. Would never do that!
So far; lightly touched up valves and seats, replaced rocker arms, new closer half rings, shimmed valves, new valve seals, new cam belt idle rollers, new rod bearings, new 5th driven gear (needed it), new matching 2nd driving and driven gear (ok, but i was in there, so), trans big ball bearings were updated to rollers (as Cranky has suggested) a few years back, checked and re-shimmed trans and crank, replaced shifter prawl with newer/better one, new piston rings (pistons and cylinders still look very good), and new seals and gaskets as needed at this point. I will paint the rocker, clutch, and side covers, and eventually re-dial the cams. Then new belts.
And then to the frame with wiring harness. And front and rear suspension. And……

Finally, the weather got dry enough and warm enough to re-paint the frame. Engine completed, and the wheels are re-painted as well. Time to decorate. MikeV Attachment:

Looking good Mike!! Hopefully more sunshine in the future. It seems to be a theme here too this year.

That has been a constantly-changing thing over the years Cal. This time i used Duplicolor engine block paint. In black they have a low-gloss, semi-gloss, high-gloss, and screaming gloss. Hard to say which looks “stock”, because that is a moving target. The “universal gold” looks a lot like some Campy wheels - depending on what year the wheel was produced. MikeV
