How have you been making out Mike? All healed up and not black and blue anymore? Can't believe that wanker chose to hit you and your bike instead of some P.O.S. Jap bike. Jealousy maybe? Something to prove? Hope the event officials banned him from further track use. Get well soon.... Flattop

Thanks for asking flattop. Honestly, it has made me reconsider my plans to go on the rodeo circuit; don’t want this every few weeks. Better every day, but still “snappin & poppin” inside. MM will beat me back to the track, but I will probably beat William (in the Neatherlands). MikeV

I must say that falling when you go to a circuit with a racing bike is not so rare, certainly there are individuals who do not know how to behave, and who start from the assumption that on the track you only go fast, I believe that it would take an education course, a minimum of teaching on lines and behaviors, even in Italy they do the breefing before each competition, but even if one does not listen, he can enter and compete. The behavior on the circuit is dictated by rules, which most of the time we have seen on TV, and this I think is not enough. However, one more accident is an excuse to be able to tell an anecdote over a beer, with friends, complete with scars and tears in the motorcycle suit! I would make you all drunk, if every fall that I tell you, you have to drink a beer ....... all drunk!

I do not know if I will be able to make you understand my vicissitude, now I try. I fell in misano in 2018, and I injured myself enough, collarbone, ribs, tibial plateau and both fractured ankles, luckily only fractures that gave pain but remained in place. A gentleman told me when I was in the medical center: But you, don't you use the motorcycle suit, which, before falling, inflates and protects you? I replied, yes, I use the motorcycle suit, but I still have the old model, which the rider of the bike swells ... after it fell to the ground!

I replaced the damaged parts, got it to another track day, and then rode it around the roads a while. But one day i realized it was just plain dirty, and looked ragged. So after 20 years i have taken it apart again (this was my self-taught Ducati mechanic Class 101 in 2004), and will rebuild it. New parts and paint where needed. I have found no damage to the frame, or forks, or rear suspension. But it needs all new bodywork and some small parts. Started on the wheels, frame, tank, fairing and seat last summer, but the rains came and ended any painting. Working on the engine now, so i can start putting those parts back on it and get it running again, and looking good. MikeV Attachment:

Hi Mike.... So, this is like the third time for this bike? Any other owner and it would have been parted out on Ebay long ago, I'm sure. Your dedication to keeping it viable is commendable. Looking forward to seeing how this resurrection turns out. Flattop
