Well, decided to take the old girl out for a track day. She has been sitting around looking forlorn: Attachment:

And this is what happened to her. Some guy, I was told when she was returned to me, had come in from the clouds in a big swooping attempt to pass and torpedoed me. I can’t remember, so must be right. Up till then it was a fine day. He got off scot-free, now she must be repaired again, and my whole torso just hurts ( a lot ) radiating down from my left shoulder. Lost a new helmet and nice set of gloves too. But my suit does have patina now. Attachment:

Mike, sorry to hear you were taken out like that. Hopefully no long lasting affects from the crash, you will have her looking like new again before you know it!

Holy crap.......from the good......right back to the ugly in short order! I sure hope you are OK, and I cant imagine how frustrated you must be after spending a lot of time and money to repair the previous damage and now have to do it again. Clay

Well, I did take it to a track day after the repairs, and everything went swimmingly. This time back to stock bodywork and relaxed rides. I may be building more street bikes in the future. Thanks for the concern. MikeV

Jeez Mike! Glad you are okay. This was a track day, so the guy has no excuse. I echo Paul's sentiments, you will have her back to beauty soon enough. Sorry to hear about it. Did you check in with your doctor? Lou

Again, thanks for the support. Actually, I am willing to get back on the horse, when it is prudent. My wife, however, has a different opinion, and that may be a bigger hurdle. No Lou, I don’t really have a doctor, except for my wife. Do have pain pills and a heat pad. I was checked out by medics at the track, and they felt (pun) that there were no broken bones. I just think all this soft tissue has to unswell (is that a word?), then take it easy, and come back slowly. More time with the doggie.
Really an odd year for us: left front brake on the motorhome locked up going down I-5 to a track day; then the microwave died; next the AC went out on the Astro van, and finally; the garage door openers both went wacky and had to be replaced. Now this! What next? Is Mars in one of those crazy phases? At least they are just inanimate objects. Here is to 2023.

PS: the TT1/F1 is getting better.

Hay Mike Sorry to hear you got the torpedo job. I hear its all the time...."you gonna ride that thing on the track its too pretty" well these bikes were designed to be ridden and we know the risks. I think still better on the track than on the street. So out of complete commiseration I binded my TT1 a few day ago at a track day. My fault though...lost the front end on a bump....Now I too have some repair work and a sore shoulder. We need to lick our wounds...repair the bike and ride again! -CRanky-

Thanks for the empathy (not sympathy) Cranky. And I agree with everything you said. I am willing to get back on the horse, just not physically ready.
Hope you get back there soon. Finally we got a photo of you and the bike on the track.
