Thanks to both of you for these sets of photos. Inspirational. I know who Bill (pantah good) is, but who is Rich? Sorry for the naive question. But I am lost on the left coast. MikeV

Hi Bill,

It was sure fun to be up there flying the flag with you. Your bike is the real thing.

Hey Mike,

I am RP84 on this forum. I bought a 750-F1 after watching guys like Jimmie Adamo and Dale Quarterley race Duc Pantahs in AMA Nationals in the mid-1980's. I knew I had to buy one. So I'm the original owner of my 750-F1. I raced it 8 years in regional races up here (Loudon, Bridgehampton, Pocono) and also some AMA Pro-Twins events on the East Coast. I was part of Cranky Roller's Squadra RPM and the Duck brigade battling the evil forces of Erion's Hawkman. Then I retired it in 1996 for some easy street use.

The bike is the love of my life (after my wife of course) and I was able to set it back up for the track and race it again. It is really fun to see the resurgence in the interest in these older bikes. I remember some friends making fun of me back in the day for buying it ...they said it was slow, expensive, Duc soon to be obsolete/out of business...they were wrong and I'm sure glad I kept it.

Thanks to many friends on this forum, you know who you are, who helped me with parts and encouragement during the long road back. The race was fun and we'll see what's next!

Thanks Rich. I guess you have gravitas! Hey Lou, I noticed the comment about "getting our old bodies ready for the track"; does this mean you are "working out"? Will we see a svelte Lou in the future---on a bike? MikeV

What? I'm not svelte? I just happen to be a big guy with a passion for small bikes. Here's a picture of me on an old TT I built. Boy Mike, lucky I'm 'thick' skinned! Lou

Hey Lou,
where can I get one of those sissy bars for my F1? is that one of these Ducati Corse ones or the NCR titanium version? I think it really makes a statement.

It does make a statement and thankfully they are 'unobtanium'! Lou
