Been years since I've had to remove the front wheel on my Laguna and I'm not quite sure how to remove the axle. Both sides of the Forcella forks have a pinch bolt which would indicate that when loosened the axle could then be driven out however one side of the axle accepts a hexagonal key which could mean that the other end is threaded. Which is it?

I don't have a Laguna, but I believe the L/H slider pinch bolt pinches on a threaded sleeve (photo) that the axle threads into. I would try leaving the L/H pinch bolt tightened, then loosen the R/H pinch bolt and then unscrew the axle.

Hello Frank.

Are your Forcella Italia 40mm forks any different than a standard F1? Mine has a 16mm threaded nut on the axle sticking out the left side. Simply remove the axle nut, loosen the pinch bolts, and tap the axle out on the right side. Never seem FIs with a threaded slider for the axle.

Photos always help if something is unique.

These might help. Top one is for the bigger Laguna type wheels, and the lower one is for the Standard F1 type wheels.

Paso wheels on the LS. That axle does look different from here. MikeV

Exactly Pantah Good!!!. Thank You. Tightened the pinch bolt on the left side and unscrewed it out of the sleeve and drove it out the rest of the way. My memory is failing me in my old age. Now finding someplace that can properly change and balance tires without damaging the Akront/Marvic rims. I took off the originals. I did it the last time but I don't trust myself now. Thanks guys.

By the way Mike, The Laguna came with Paso wheels. Must have been a cost cutting thing by Ducati. I bought a set of Akront/ Marvic wheels years ago because the Paso wheels didn't look right. Pantah Good was correct with his illustration.
