Regarding the PVS4 topics posted here, I was wondering what pressure it should be pumped up to? Any ideas? I bought a 1985 F1 from Japan ( via Marseille, France) a while ago, and havent found the answer yet..

I never worked on a PVS4, but I doubt it's much different than other gas pressurized shocks.
Most use nitrogen in the 140 to 145 lb range. All you need to do is get enough pressure in it to hold errant air particles at bay and keep them from emulsifying with the oil.
Someone like Racetech (or a suspension company near you) may know more.

Does anybody know if there was a Brembo part number for the original 280mm floating rotors used on the 85/86 F1 (Ducati # 067577340)? Alternatively, if anyone knows where I might find a set for my rebuild (I've tried all the usual suspects, but figure they must have been used on other branded bikes of the time)?

Hi Clinton, I think there may be a set for sale on the 851/888 forum. I sent him a PM for more info, and if they're the right ones I'll send you a PM with contact info. Bill

An update:
The '85 / '86 Vitaloni mirrors use the same internals & outer shell as the (still available) Vitaloni Convex Sebring mirrors. The original mounts will need to be retained, but the shell is exact down to the molded part numbers, etc. I purchased a pair from Talbot & Co in the US for about $100 a piece. The guy that I dealt with (Gunther) was very helpful.

Sorry Clinton, found out those rotors are aftermarket 320mm floating iron ones as used on later 851's/916/etc. Is Carlo on your "usual suspect" list? Bill

Thanks for the help Bill, but I may have found a pair of NOS units in Germany - I'm just waiting on confirmation.

Another update:
The '86 brake master cylinder (P/N 037754330) is the same as the unit used on the bevel twins (P/N 080554300). The actual brake lever is different when purchased as a complete unit (the bevel unit has a polished alloy lever whilst the F1 is painted black). Even the casting numbers on the cylinder match the F1.

Can anyone tellme which spark plug cap was used on the '86 F1? A good photo would also help if anyone has one.
