Off my '86 B. Replaced it because they supposedly had a reputation for locking up and it felt notchy.

Forcella Italia (Ceriani) forks:

does anyone know anything about the difference in logos in the following pictures:

Notice how the first logo has what appears to be a "n" before the FI whilst the second doesn't. There is also a difference in the dot above the "I" and one has "Ceriani" in black within the castle whilst the second is in white. I have seen both on the forks for the F1's and was wondering which is period correct for 1986.

Hi
The N means New, (Nuova Forcella Italia, NFI) it is the same product but a new company, so the right one for the 1986 period should be the FI not the NFI, then some years later the NFI was bought by the Paioli and the old owner mr Gianni started dealing with textiles products.

I thought I'd pass on some info that could help others looking for a throttle assy (which includes the switch gear) for an F1.

The Allazzurra throttle has the exact same tube & front section of the switch block as the F1 - the switches are exactly the same. The rear half of the switch block isn't inter-changeable, but it's just a case of swapping it out with the old unit. There is also an extra wire & the wires are different in colour, with a 4 pin connector instead of a 3 pin. The internal switch mechanism is identical - I dont know what the extra wire is for, but the wires are soldered & easily removed. Steve at Loudbike has these in store at the moment if anyones chasing one.

Can someone post up a good photo of the decal location on their forks, along with a couple of measurements with reference points so that I place these correctly on the freshly painted units?
Thanks again,
Clinton

Hi Clinton,
On the two n.o.s. L/H sliders I just got from Ian, the bottom of the stick-on is about 26.5mm to the point of the little cast in arrow. Both of these stick-on's have the "n". The same measurement on the R/H slider on my '86 B is 31.5mm. That stick-on is without the "n". My guess is the person(s) putting those on did it pretty much by eye.

Thanks Bill, I was guessing that they weren't going to be perfect, and this just confirms it for me.
